Westminster Presbyterian Church (USA) was established in 1882 and is located in Westminster, SC. We are a small church, but mighty in the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to be faithful Christians, serving to create a fellowship of believers who encourage and welcome a diversity of people into our congregation. We continually enrich ourselves and extend the church family through worship, education and discipleship inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit.
Our pastor is Rev. Audrey Hartness Reese, who was ordained and installed at WPC on February 24, 2013.
Nestled in the northwest corner of South Carolina, WPC strives to be a vital part of the community, participating in community events such as the SC Apple Festival, Spring Festivals, and Bigfoot Festival.
What to expect at WPC:
You’re only a visitor once at WPC! At worship, we are a come as you are congregation: Whether that’s a suit or jeans, you are welcome here! We follow a traditional order of worship, but in a fun and friendly way. Our passing of the peace is more like a coffee hour, so expect a lot of handshakes and hugs. For our introvert sisters and brothers, we understand! It’s perfectly fine to stay seated or even slip out for a drink of water.
We celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, on the last Sunday of the month, on Easter Sunday, World Communion Sunday, and on Christmas Eve. We believe that we are part of the body of Christ, so as the body, we take Communion together. An elder will serve you each element, and after all have been served, the pastor will prompt us all to eat and drink together. We offer gluten free wafers and our “wine” is grape juice. We also believe in an open table. All who desire to know and love Jesus are welcome.
